Mediation and Court Marriage in Lahore Pakistan:

Advocate Nazia from Lahore Pakistan says that psychologically, court marriage in Lahore Pakistan affects the parties because they often feel they have failed in the most personal human relationships. Practically, it means that they face a difficult period in their lives, economically and otherwise. Emotionally, it can mean a traumatic experience, especially if the court marriage in Lahore Pakistan has lasted a long time and if children are involved. Normally, divorce constitutes a last-resort measure, taken only after all other means of saving the marriage have failed. The lawyer’s first suggestion may be that the partners consult with their lawyers. In many instances, this has already been attempted without success.

Suggestion:

A next suggestion may indicate professional counseling by any excellent family or children’s services supported by municipal governments, private foundations, the United Fund, and similar agencies. But, often, one or the other spouse refuses even to admit that a problem exists—mediation by the mid-1980s, a new method of encouraging divorce bound. Couples to agree on ways to structuring their settlements had come into widespread use. The method involves a professional mediator who confers with both parties to solve a court hearing. In 1983 twenty-three states were using mediators as parts of court systems. Court marriage in Lahore Pakistan required couples who differed on child custody questions to see a mediator before going to court. Around the country, social workers, trade union negotiators, and some lawyers were becoming mediators.

Mediation:

Mediation has been found generally to bring couples to find their court-assigned solutions to their problems. Mediation has proved to be a way to lighten caseloads. Critics have ended that the method may provide inadequate protection for one or the other spouse. A partner commonly asks some questions about a marriage that is breaking up. These include: Who has to leave the house first? If the property is owned jointly by the husband and wife, both have the right to remain on the property. Neither can be required to leave before the other.

Injury:

If one spouse fears that the other will inflict bodily injury or harm, the aid of a court should be sought to force the other party to leave the premises. Does the husband have to continue to support the wife? The answer is yes. The husband’s duty to support his wife continues until the divorce. In those states that recognize alimony, the duty continues after the divorce decree is entered. Wives may also be required to support their husbands who may not have the same means. The same rules may apply equally to husband and wife.

Inflict Serious Bodily harm:

What happens if one partner realistically and properly fears that the other may inflict serious bodily harm? What about a wife beater? Practically, it may be impossible to deal with a wife beater. Counseling does not help; the only real protection for the spouse after court marriage in Lahore Pakistan may be the protection that the law affords. Admittedly, this may not be adequate in all cases. Where a wife seriously fears that her husband may injure her or her children-where she has a “reasonable apprehension of bodily harm”-she may have to face a very disagreeable, embarrassing confrontation. She may have to ignore what the neighbors may think.
