Although the Academy Awards may appear to be an event for grownups, these ten Oscar winners indicate that age should not be a factor when it comes to skill.

Several actors, ranging from Jessica Tandy to Henry Fonda, have won Academy Awards for acting in their 70s and 80s.

In contrast, artists like Tatum O’Neal from Paper Moon and Anna Paquin from The Piano have won the Golden Globe while still in their adolescent years.

Even though considerably younger nominees, such as 8-year-old Justin Henry from Kramer vs Kramer & 11-year-old Haley Joel Osment, made the final cut in the category, the youngest winners were usually in their 20s (The Sixth Sense). Note: Don’t miss out to watch Index of walking dead series

Henry has the record for becoming the youngest nominee in any category, while O’Neal holds the record for being the youngest winner.

Goldie Hawn, 24

Goldie Hawn is a well-known actress, singer, & dancer who rose to prominence on the comedy – drama series Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In.

Then, in 1969, she starred in the romantic comedy Cactus Flower starring Walter Matthau & Ingrid Bergman. The story followed a dentist (Matthau) who struggles with commitment, while Hawn portrayed the protagonist’s jittery girlfriend.

Despite the fact that it was her first major performance, she went on to win a Golden Globe and an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. She was nominated for another Academy Award for her starring role in Private Benjamin, for which she received another nomination.

Teresa Wright, 24

Teresa Wright, like Hawn, won her Supporting Actress Oscar at the age of 24, but she was 9 days younger at the time.

Mrs. Miniver, a relatively forgotten war drama from 1942, won her the medal. Mrs. Miniver is a novel about a British housewife who experiences the effects of WWII on her life. Wright also played the role of a daughter-in-law.

Interestingly, she was also nominated for Best Actress for The Pride of the Yankees in the same year.

Anne Baxter, 23

Anne Baxter is well-known among modern admirers of classic and vintage cinema for her role as Eve in All About Eve, for which she was nominated for An oscar for the Best Actress.

Baxter received a Supporting Actress Oscar for The Razor’s Edge, an interpretation of W Somerset Maugham’s novel of the same name, even before All About Eve’s triumph.

Sophie MacDonald is undoubtedly one of Baxter’s most heartbreaking roles, particularly in a hospital scene where she loses both her husband and her son.

Despite the fact that Baxter was not nominated for any more film awards after her win, she continued to work with notable Hollywood figures such as Alfred Hitchcock & Cecil B. De Mille.

Jennifer Lawrence, 22

Jennifer Lawrence, who won the Best Actress Oscar for Silver Linings Playbook, is a more recent example. In this touching comedy, Lawrence and Bradley Cooper play people who bond over their problems with mental illnesses, eventually joining hands for a dance contest.

Tatum O’Neal, the youngest Oscar winner in any competition category, received acclaim for his role as Addie in Paper Moon. Her father, Ryan O’Neal, was a conman traveling through the Great Depression in the road/comedy picture.

Despite its humorous aspects, the film nevertheless serves as a compelling drama about economic disparity and hardship in Depression-era Kansas.

Although she continued to appear in minor film parts and guest appearances on TV shows such as Sex and the City, O’Neal’s most known movie credit remains Paper Moon.

Patty Duke

Patty Duke earned the Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her portrayal of Hellen Keller, the legendary author, activist, and disability rights campaigner.

The Miracle Worker, a biopic on Keller’s tutor Anne Sullivan (acted by Anne Bancroft) & her attempts to help Keller communicate with the outside world, was the film in question.
